All work should be sent by email to submissions [at] ablanatha.com with the subject line “[name] – Submission“. Include a short biography and any social media handles. Ablanatha does not charge submission fees. We are unable to offer payment at this time.
Nonfiction
Articles should be around 2,000 words, not including bibliographies and footnotes or endnotes. Academic rigor isn’t necessary, but appreciated (unless it means dry or boring writing.) Articles should be in an easily-readable font and double-spaced.
Poetry
Submit 5 or less poems, each no longer than two pages, in a .pdf or .docx format. Experimental and visual poetry is more than welcome. Poetry that is enjoyable is always fine — if you are confident, go for it! — but we do prefer poetry that meets our themes: ruins, detritus, ritual, haunting in every sense of the word, &c. Uncritical pastorals, toothless love ballads, and any poetry that mentions the act of writing or reading poetry is not really what we are looking for.
Fiction
Ablanatha does not publish fiction (but see below.)
Other
Writing outside of mainstream literary conventions is highly encouraged. Please submit any and all ritual instructions, dream reports, pseudepigrapha, performance scores, asemic (pansemic) writing, literary experiments, or anything else worth reading (or performing, or seeing, and so on.)
